I don't mean to speak ill of the dead, but Bernie Torme's version of "Ain't No Easy Way" is really no good. Leaden, soulless and joyless. To my ears he was trying too hard to fit in with the California poodle-rockers; he needn't have bothered - he'd already established all his bonifides with Gillan. . .
